Christmas time is often over-indulgence is not uncommon for people to come back after the break carries a little more 'holiday weight'. Here are five ways to help your family stay healthy during the festive break.
1 If you plan to prepare lots of food for your clan this Christmas and you're worried about what you do, do some research of some healthy family recipes that are delicious and avoid some of the fattier foods available.
2 While Christmas tradition for many families means slumping in front of the TV and watch movies and TV specials, it may be time to take action by turning off the box and looking for more energetic activities to do.
3 One such activity could be riding bikes, especially if this is what you end up buying their children this Christmas. It is ever present and popular as an alternative to video games console, it will help keep your children entertained and active. Why not ask Santa for a bike too and make it a family activity?
4 Do not do too much on desserts. If you put on weight this Christmas, then chances are it will be until the chocolate cake and Christmas pudding. Choose one or the other and avoid the dessert with every meal.
5 If your children have written their lists for Santa Claus and they contain a range of gift ideas that are more suited to sit in, be sure to compensate for them, including some sport or active gifts. Tennis rackets, skateboards and soccer balls and yoga mats are all popular gifts and will help your children stay fit and healthy.
Family health is a major problem for many parents, but with exercise, and a little imagination, you can check if a litter were still in top fitness when the New Year rolls of the year.
