Water VS Sport Drinks - Health Tips


the main reason why we drink when we exercise is to get out of rehydration water loss through sweat. Besides the loss of water, electrolytes and carbohydrates lost when exercise is good. That is why there are sports drinks.

How did you choose your own sports drink?

First of all, there are three types of sports drinks. They are namely Hypotonic, isotonic and hypertonic.

Hypotonic: "Hypo-", meaning less, suggesting that the liquid is less concentrated than the body. Thus, it promotes better absorption of water in our body.

isotonic "ISO", which means the same, suggesting that drinking is the same as the concentration of body fluids. It not only hydrates the body and replenish electrolytes and carbohydrates in the body. It is most appropriate if your exercise duration more than 60mins.

hypertensive, "Hyper-", which means more, suggests that the liquid is more concentrated than the body. Drink hypertonic drinks as a beverage after exercise to replenish your energy and replenish lost because it does not serve the purpose of hydration.
