Foods to Support Heart Health

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate that is at least 70% cocoa solids, has shown promise in lowering blood pressure because of the compound in it called epicatechin. This combination increases the nitric oxide that keeps blood pressure and inflammation down.

Yogurt: adding this heart healthy foods to your diet? It May seem like a round about way to support heart health, but stay with me on this one! Yogurt is beneficial in protecting against gum disease, but what it has to do with the support of your heart? Research shows that, when left unchecked, gum disease greatly increases a person's risk for heart disease. They did not see that one coming, right? Think about how often you floss your teeth to support the health of the gums, or how good brushing every day - to encourage you to increase the intake of yogurt

Berries: You May also heard that the berries are beneficial for heart health, but you might not know why. Besides being rich in antioxidants, berries are associated with lower blood pressure and increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels. To see these benefits, add a cup of mixed berries to your daily diet for eight weeks. It may seem like a big task, but I think it is good that a cup of fruit per day supports your heart! With so many types, you will not be able to get bored with what Berry is on!
