Health and Fitness of Nations - Where is Money Best Spent When it Comes to Fitness?

It is interesting to see editorial in the Vancouver Sun newspaper issue of spending taxpayers' money of Canada at the Olympic sportovima.Zimske Olympic Games a great success, both in terms of logistics for Canada, and in terms medalja.Kanadski Olympic Committee (COC) requested additional $ 11 million a year on top of the current $ 47 million.

It is interesting to see editorial in the Vancouver Sun newspaper issue of spending taxpayers' money of Canada at the Olympic sportovima.Zimske Olympic Games a great success, both in terms of logistics for Canada, and in terms medalja.Kanadski Olympic Committee (COC) requested additional $ 11 million a year on top of the current $ 47 million.

...

The paper noted that several medal winning athletes say they can not succeed without funding. Then the key point, "... we've been buying medals. Now we know we can do it. But we need to do? Maybe the money should be spread around to give children across the country more chances to ski, skate, hockey, curl, and even Bob ."

Last year the Australian government report proposes funding of Olympic sports have been reduced and the money directed more sports with greater participation. It is estimated that each gold medal at the Beijing Olympics will cost about $ 15million Australia.

Not surprisingly, this appeal has brought howls of protest from Olympic officials and athletes, who not only do not want to cut funding, they want more money. One former medal was quoted in the article as saying that she would be disappointed if young people were not able to realize their dreams due to lack of funds.

It is great for people that have dreams and go after them. But why not make some dreams to be supported by taxpayers and others to be? If your dream is to be an Olympic athlete then, significant money can be directed his way in terms of training and other support. What if your dream is to be a musician or a scientist or anything other than an Olympic athlete, you have to manage themselves. Keep in mind that Olympic medals are actually people who did not state, although the medal count was performed according to the country.

Even more important is the question of how public money should be spent. Given the demands of "health" of dollars from lifestyle-related conditions such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease and even cancers, some of which are partly improved or reduced by exercise, is pouring millions into the elite sporting good investment compared to put money into facilities for more people to do sport and exercise. There is no "trickle down" effect of fitness.

There is another aspect of it, what I saw in the neighborhood last godine.Australski Institute of Sport (AIS) is a training ground for Olympic athletes in Australia. On a tour Tuesday morning around 10:00 there were two six-year-old kids are doing gymnastics. I asked the guide why they were not in school? Obviously, the compressed school four hours a 11-3 sandwiched between training for six hours dnevno.Obitelji moved to Canberra, so that children are not separated from roditelja.Djeca "picked up" as young as three of their potential in sport.

exactly when these kids play and whom they play with? What if their potential is not as great as talent scouts think? If any KPIs not met then it will be ejected from Instituta.Australskoj community pays for it. I know that some countries are much worse than that in their quest for gold, but that does not make it any better.

Set up six years old children in institutions away from their friends and rob them of childhood is close to child abuse in my knjizi.Mrkva and gold does not change that.

If a person wants to pursue dreams, whether it be sports or anything else that is great. If you are unable to get external support, that is great too. Governments have a responsibility to the entire community. With 75% of the burden of disease related to conditions of life style I really want to buy a gold medal for a few people and we want to use the money to build facilities and provide community support, and more children (and adults) can be physically active and to be encouraged .

How many sports balls can be purchased and how the community fitness trainers could be employed for a year, the cost of the gold medal. Being active is vital for good health. Nations will get healthier if more people a bit of sport or exercise, but if you do a little much.

benefits of regular exercise are many and varied. You can only get the benefit if you do it. Government, who are supposedly interested in the health of the people they serve have to think long and hard about the best way to spend your dollars.
