Primary Health Center ( Issues , Strength and Scope)


Primary Health Care (PHC) strategy has proved to be a milestone in the history of health policy. PHC is defined as "essential health care based on practical, scientifically sound and socially acceptable methods and technology made ​​universally accessible to individuals and families in the community through their full participation and at a price that community and country can afford to maintain every stage of development in the spirit of confidence and self-determination. "PHC is expected to be an integral part of social and national health care system, which is the central function and main focus, and overall social and economic community development. This will be the first level of contact of individuals, families and communities with the national health system bringing health care as close as possible to where people work and live, and the first element of continuing health

care.

PHC consists of eight elements:

in education about prevailing health problems and methods for prevention and control them,

in a sufficient supply of safe drinking water and basic sanitation,

in the mother, including family planning,

in immunization against major infectious diseases,

in the prevention and control of locally endemic diseases,

in the appropriate treatment of common diseases and injuries, and
